Rihanna Dior Sunglasses Collaboration - Rihanna Designs Sunglasses Collection for Dior

Posted by Abbie Anker on Tuesday, May 21, 2024

Rihanna has her sights set on the fashion industry and she won't stop until she's dressing us all from head to toe. Just in case you weren't decked out in enough Bad Gal Riri gear (Fenty by Rihanna for Puma, Rihanna for Manolo Blahnik and don't forget the soon-to-be makeup range Fenty Beauty by Rihanna), there's a new Riri-designed Dior sunglasses collection arriving just in time for summer.

According to Dior, the singer took inspiration for the shades from an unexpected source: La Forge from Star Trek. "I've always been obsessed with his eyewear, and when I got to Dior and saw all the materials I could play with, it all just came together," Rihanna said in a statement.

Star Trek's La Forge inspired Rihanna's sunglasses design

As part of her brand ambassadorship, Rihanna has designed a range of Dior sunglasses, set to launch this June. The new futuristic shades will be available in six different color variations—silver, pink, blue, green and red—retailing for $840. For those of us who are feeling extra Bad Gal Riri, there's also a luxe 24-karat gold-plated style, which will be available for $1,950.

The range marks Rihanna's first design project for Dior and will be sold exclusively in Dior stores beginning this June. Leave it to Bad Gal Riri to somehow make accessorizing like Star Trek completely cool.
