The wait is over: Meghan Markle has made her bridal debut at the royal wedding with her hair up in her current favourite style, a bun. But far from a messy bun (her unconventional hairstyle–for a royal–now famous in its own right), this mega chignon is polished and glossy, while still perfectly imperfect. Perfectly Meghan.

The bride's voluminous up-do was centre-parted at the front, with some soft strands loosely framing her face, and swept up at the back beneath her cathedral-length veil and stunning tiara.

While Markle was initially rumoured to have 'borrowed' Amal Clooney's go-to hairstylist, Miguel Perez who has apparently been working with the bride since she arrived in London, she actually chose Serge Normant for the big day at Windsor Castle. The famed New York-based stylist, who regularly works with the likes of Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker, has his own product range and salon, Serge Normant at John Frieda in New York.

For the newlyweds' evening reception at Frogmore House, Markle not only changed into another dress, but she had a hair makeover (or makeunder), too. For her second look she worked with London's king of cool hair, George Northwood, who gave the bride her signature loose bun; undone but well done - without a doubt.
