It was the handiwork of Nyong'o’s long-term hairstylist Vernon François, a hair visionary who’s famed for his artistry that always blends elegance with an edge.
Last year at the 2018 Oscars ceremony Nyong'o served an equally stunning hairstyle, with François inspired by the Amasunzu hairstyles of Rwanda to incorporate gold thread into her hair, matching her after-party outfit.
